What is happening in the world?
We all heard by now about this terrifying disease that spreads faster and faster into our precious unguarded world. These days human nature is revealed, for worse or better, I agree to what Derek Mears said ‘I feel like Nature has sent us all to our rooms for being assholes.’
If I could depict the entire human race, there will be people who only think about themselves during the quarantine, but on the other hand, there’ll be the compassionate individuals who’ll put themselves into the service of others. There will be people with faith, people who believe we are all going to die, people who panic and people that break the rules. All these individuals, their actions and mentality reflect every single shade of the human mind. Do you still believe we are the perfect society? Think twice. We do not respond or act like one unity. ‘First, we survive, then we find our humanity back.’
What is Pandemic?
A pandemic represents an infectious disease where we see significant and ongoing person-to-person spread in multiple countries around the world at the same time.
The last time a pandemic happened was in 2009 with swine flu, which experts estimate killed hundreds of thousands of people.
Pandemics are more likely if a virus is brand-new, capable to infect people quickly and can spread from person-to-person in an efficient and sustained way.
The coronavirus outbreak has been labelled a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).
What is Coronavirus?
COVID-19 is the disease produced by the new coronavirus that emerged in China in December 2019. COVID-19 signs include cough, fever and shortness of breath and it can be severe, some cases have caused mortality.
What to do while stuck inside due to a pandemic?
In times of coronavirus and lack human contact, many of us are staying at home. Here are some ideas of what you can do from home to cheer yourself and develop skills that you always wanted to poses. Why not use your time reasonably?
Start healing your mind. Determine once and for all the best hiding spots in your home if it makes you feel better. Get some fresh air. Share something hopeful and positive. Concentrate, you have a lot of time at your disposal to educate yourself in any field. Help others with technology and use all the resources you’ve got.
It is your time, and you can do almost everything you ever wanted. Don’t spend your days waiting for this pandemic to end, each day you don’t get out of bed and do nothing for yourself is a lost day because you made no progress and you should think about yourself, at least once. How often do you get 24/7 free time to invest in yourself without any penalties, without losing school days, workdays and any other significant obligation we have?
What will I do?
Besides playing games with family, reading Virginia Woolf and pilates, I am using my time to prepare for the next two big exams in my life: Baccalaureate & IELTS.
I suggest you get active, meditate, dance, have a routine or even do a karaoke night if that’s what makes you happy at the end of the day. Be confident, we will get through this.
